I learned not only how to spell but also the definition of cockamamie. Sad to say that I learned this by watching an episode of the Bachelor Pad. I've never really thought about the definition of cockamamie before, and had always thought it was closer in definition to hoopla or something of the sort, but apparently it means ridiculous or implausible.
