I had a full day of orientation today for my TA position this semester in the Writing Tutorial Services. I learned how to log-on and use the computerized tutor software, how to deal with angry students, students with disabilities, and students who are having anxiety attacks. I learned some new things about some of my new co-TAs and classmates. But most important of all I learned that the awesome restaurant that was previously a faculty-only (or by invite from a faculty member) establishment when I was doing my MA is now open to everyone and the campus catering service makes some fantastic pizza.
