I learned today that other people's hair, as in strangers' hair, can set off my gag reflexes. It takes a lot to set my gag reflexes into action. I was cleaning the bathroom at my new apartment, if you're wondering. I am sure a dozen of you just now gagged reading that.
I also learned, no re-learned, that one can really not get as much done in a day without a car. But what I learned that I think I was too cheap to figure out during other stints of carlessness is that you can call a cab when you have some big and/or heavy items to get home. And it doesn't actually cost that much if you're not too far away.
